Mr David Osborn has joined the Australian Radioactive Waste Agency (ARWA) as its new General Manager – Technical and Safety.
Mr Osborn has more than 25 years of experience in government and international affairs, nuclear science and technology, environmental management, and diplomacy.
He has also served as Director, Environment Laboratories for seven years with the International Atomic Energy Agency. He also worked with the United Nations Environment Programme for nine years.
ARWA General Manager, Sam Chard, welcomed her new colleague this April.
“Mr Osborn brings a wealth of expertise to the Agency’s important work, and I know he is looking forward to getting out and meeting locals around Kimba,” Ms Chard said. “Mr Osborn has extensive experience working in the nuclear science and technology area and particular expertise in environmental management, which is a crucial part of our project.
“This is another step forward for ARWA and another step forward in siting Australia’s National Radioactive Waste Management Facility.”
ARWA’s new General Manager will be based in the agency’s headquarters in Adelaide.
