Unlocking the potential of Australian public sector data is key to driving innovation, efficiencies, productivity and economic growth across all levels of Government. As data volumes continue to grow, so too does the potential value and opportunities of that data.  

However, as an emerging field, before the power of data can be unlocked, increasing data management maturity and ensuring strong data management and governance foundations are laid, is a critical step Australia’s Public Sector must remain focused on. 

The 6th Australian Government Data Summit will focus on how you can improve the reliability, quality and accessibility of data, use data and emerging technology for innovation and competitive advantage and imbed data literacy and build a highly skilled data workforce to create a data-driven culture. It will explore the trends and strategies that will push your data management practices up the maturity curve.

    In this session, Adrian will share his approach to risk that has been cultivated through experience across many different government data initiatives, most recently with Health. Enabling data driven insights requires a balance between achieving benefits from leveraging data assets while also meeting essential security and privacy obligations. Working with others and cutting through complexity are crucial to meeting growing demand and delivering at pace and scale.
