As the Packaging Buyer, you will draw upon your ability to negotiate mutually beneficial outcomes with suppliers that drive and improve performance and product quality. Specifically, this involves monitoring changing market conditions, understanding our supplier capabilities and applying commercial acumen to drive the best outcome for our business. This role is a 12 month maximum term contract.

What are we looking for?

Ideally Procurement experience but not essential
Demonstrated analytical and business acumen experience may have been gained in Supply Chain, Commercial, Supplier Quality Assurance or Finance
Ideally FMCG experience but not critical
Proven ability to manage end to end negotiations/activity management
Tertiary qualification

What would be your key responsibilities?

Manage day-to-day Commercial operations for specified Pack materials
Ensure we have a robust supply chain for the delivery of the Pack materials for the Australian factories
Work with regional and local buying teams in developing and executing strategies.
Management of local and regional supplier relationships in terms of quality, service and efficiency
Identify and lead the qualification process of new suppliers and supplier changes

This role is required to be based at our Mars Ballarat site for at least 3 days per week and can be based in Melbourne office for 2 days. Working from home in the current environment is required.
