ACT

The Governance & Parliamentary team works closely with key stakeholders to ensure the work of the Commission is planned, monitored and reported in a coherent and cohesive way, and supports the Commission to meet the Minister’s Office expectations and the requirements of the PGPA framework. We do this through the following key functions for the Commission:

  • providing secretariat support to key governance forums
  • managing the internal audit program
  • coordinating strategic and business planning
  • producing the Corporate Plan, Annual Performance Statement and Annual Report
  • administering the performance reporting framework
  • delivering the parliamentary function, including coordinating the Estimates process, preparation for Question Time and performing the Cabinet Liaison Officer role
  • coordinating and supporting use of PDMS+ across the Commission.

The team comprises an EL2 Director, 2 EL1 Assistant Directors and 2 APS6 Governance & Parliamentary Officers.

 

About the Role
The APS6 and EL1 roles will be responsible for;

  • supporting the Commission to fulfil its purpose through effective governance, performance, internal policy and planning frameworks to support key business decisions, and operational and corporate functionality
  • supporting the Commission to execute the parliamentary function to meet the expectations of our Minister’s Office and government through accurate and timely reporting.

While the roles are responsible for a series of core Governance & Parliamentary functions for the Commission, the roles also undertake other activities as directed by the executive.

 

Responsibilities
Governance & Parliamentary leadership, supervisory and operational responsibilities are spread across the 2 Assistant Director roles in the team; Governance & Parliamentary operational responsibilities are spread across the 2 APS6 roles in the team. All roles work closely with the Director to improve the effectiveness by which we:

  • provide secretariat support to key governance forums as required
  • manage delivery of the internal audit function
  • coordinate strategic and business planning
  • coordinate and collate the Commission’s corporate reporting, including producing the Corporate Plan, Annual Performance Statement and Annual Report
  • administer the performance reporting framework
  • manage the parliamentary function
  • manage Audit and Risk Management Committee operations
  • build proficient use of PDMS+ across the Commission
  • drive continuous improvement across the Commission
  • contribute more broadly to delivering outcomes for Enabling Services group.
