Neerigen Brook Primary School (PS) is seeking a Deputy Principal with effective change management skills who can model the teaching that is reflective of best practice.
The successful applicant will manage and lead the staff and students by providing instructional and curriculum leadership under the direction of the Principal. A classroom teaching component is embedded in this role.
In collaboration with the Principal and members of the Executive Team, the Deputy Principal provides educational leadership in the school and the community by developing and promoting the school vision and establishing strong relationships with students, staff and the community.
The successful applicant would ideally also possess an understanding of the structure of Independent Public Schools and display strong skills in curriculum, school operations, behaviour education and pastoral care.
The successful applicant will ideally have outstanding communication and organisational skills; resilience and the proven ability to lead staff to effectively implement the West Australian Curriculum. They should also have experience in embedding whole-school approaches, coordinating and initiating strategies for supporting students at educational risk; and engaging staff, parents and students with the National Quality Standards.
The Deputy Principal will combine with other members of the leadership team, to develop and lead a professional learning community that maximises student outcomes. This will involve supporting staff via coaching and mentoring to develop robust plan-teach-assess cycles based on the analysis of student performance data and encompassing intentional differentiation.
The successful applicant for the position of Deputy Principal will join an Executive Team that sets high expectations for themselves and their staff. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy.
