We’re looking for an experienced, confident and creative social media officer to help the Commission build on our social presence.

Working to the Assistant Director Digital Communication and Channel lead, you’ll drive effective social media strategy and content that engages and grows our audience, while balancing the needs of the Commission’s internal stakeholders.

You will be an excellent communicator who can confidently and constructively provide advice to stakeholders from across the organisation, helping them understand how to effectively engage on social media, showcasing best practice digital communication and sharing knowledge about reaching defined audiences.

As the Senior Social Media Officer, you will use evidence gained from research and reporting to advise on and drive best practice communication for the Commission.

You can be creative in managing the planning, production and delivery of content. An eye for design is crucial to ensure we are on brand, channel-appropriate and performing as best as it can, to the right audience.

To be successful in this role you’ll develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, have excellent attention to detail and the capability, motivation and good judgement to manage competing priorities and deliver high quality work within tight deadlines.

This position is located in Canberra however remote options may be considered.

This role is being advertised as both ongoing and non-ongoing with the intention to create a merit pool for possible future vacancies. The role will be initially filled as a specified term vacancy for an initial period of up to 10 months.  

Eligibility

Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS) or, in limited circumstances, in the process of obtaining citizenship.         

Successful applicants will be required to undergo the process to obtain and maintain, or continue to hold the required security clearance level for the role as indicated. All Commission staff are required to have a minimum Baseline security clearance prior to commencement.

Successful applicants may be required to undergo an Australian Federal Police check.
