What is the role?

Applications are sought from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for the role of Team Member – Learning and Development Command.

Learning and Development Command drives the AFP to acquire knowledge, develop skills and create a learning culture that helps the AFP thrive and outsmart serious crime. 

The AFP is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) certified by the Australian Skills Quality Authority to provide a range of Vocational Education and Training services and provide quality training and qualifications that are nationally recognised. 

The successful candidate will have the ability to gain experience and knowledge related to:

  • The development of learning resources and learning packages;
  • RTO requirements;
  • Approaching tasks with initiative and a positive attitude;
  • Adapting readily to change;
  • Commitment to excellent client service; and
  • Contributing actively to the ongoing continuous improvement of policies and procedures.

The key duties of the position include:

Under the direction of senior team members, this role will be responsible for delivering outcomes related to the AFP’s learning culture, including administering and overseeing tasks to support the AFP’s requirements as an RTO.

This includes, but is not limited to tasks related to:

  • Contributing to the development of instructional material such as policies, procedures and processes;
  • Managing projects and associated financial activities;
  • Conducting and supporting activities including gap analysis’, validation, moderation, evaluation and continuous improvement;
  • Manage and coordinate the SAP Learning Solution (LSO) including;
  • Data analysis and reporting;
  • Maintenance and quality assurance of the course/qualification catalogues;
  • General tasks to progress the achievement of team outcomes;
  • Providing advice and assistance to inform the development of training, assessment and associated resources such as: learning package – analysis; design; development; implementation; evaluation and continuous improvement;
  • Providing advice, assistance and facilitating workshops to proactively drive the ongoing development of AFP trainers and assessors; and
  • Liaising with clients and building collaborative relationships.

Eligibility

Essential Requirements

  • You must be an Australian Citizen.
  • A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
  • Has contemporary knowledge and experience relevant to the role.

This is an AFP Band 5 position based in Canberra, ACT.
