Period of employment / Hours:

Fixed term full-time day work (part-time hours may be considered by negotiation) commencing ASAP until 31 December 2021 – Multiple vacancies.

Duties:

Primary Purpose / Focus :

Government Liaison Officers (GLOs) work from quarantine facilities across the state, based in the region closest to their home address, to provide contactless support to guests to manage COVID-19 risks.
The primary role of the GLOs is to be a first point of contact for guests in hotel quarantine. The role is undertaken primarily through the telephone as there is no face-to-face contact between the GLO and quarantining guests. The role includes:
proactively reaching out to guests to provide information;
responding to guests’ enquiries; and
facilitating support for guests who have health or other needs.
GLOs are responsible for maintaining a register of all contact with guests and ensuring that important information is handed over to the next GLO on the roster. They are also responsible for providing a situation report on key events at the end of their shift to the GLO escalation point and a template is provided for both the guest contact register and the situation report.

Selection criteria includes:

Demonstrated ability to maintain a customer service focus in an environment that is subject to ambiguity and change, including the ability to deal with conflict and challenging behaviours.
Demonstrated ability to apply good judgement and respond appropriately to client circumstances and requirements, including a capability to triage enquiries.
Demonstrated ability to plan, organise, and prioritise to complete tasks and meet deadlines.

Desirable Requirements:

Current Driver’s Licence
Strong background in customer service and knowledge of public service ethics and accountabilities. Demonstrated resilience in high pressure situations.
Essential Requirements:

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

1. Conviction checks in the following areas:
a) crimes of violence
b) sex related offences
c) serious drug offences
d) crimes involving dishonesty
e) serious traffic offences (If Driver’s License is an Essential Requirement )
