Goulburn Mulwaree Council addresses staff shortages with new campaign

The Goulburn Mulwaree Council along with the Capital Region Local Jobs Program has launched a hiring campaign to recruit workers into roles across Goulburn.
The “Goulburn Is Hiring” campaign, which will run until the end of April 2023 will give businesses the opportunity to promote the positions they need to be filled. The Capital Region Local Jobs Program will help match job seekers into those roles.
“Staff shortages are a significant challenge for many businesses right now,” Employment Facilitator for the Capital Region Marcus Caldwell said.
“The Goulburn Is Hiring Campaign aims to ease some of the pressure on businesses by better-connecting jobseekers into these available jobs.”
Businesses that need staff are asked to visit the campaign website to pledge the jobs they need to be filled. After, the Local Jobs Program will work with employment service providers and other jobseeker organisations to match potential employees into the needed roles.
Jobs that have been pledged by businesses will also be posted to the jobs board of the campaign website. The Goulburn Mulwaree Council and the Capital Region Local Jobs Program will also help in heavily promoting job offerings across the region.
The Goulburn Mulwaree Council’s latest campaign is encouraging jobseekers to consider a career in sectors such as construction, hospitality and community services, addressing where workforce shortages are greatest.
“Construction, hospitality and community services are booming sectors with an enormous opportunity to learn new skills and secure solid employment,” Goulburn Mulwaree Council Economic Development Manager Danae Vitnell said.
“If you’re a job seeker, student, or an existing worker looking for extra hours, you should seriously consider a job or career in these sectors”.
The Capital Region Local Jobs Program is an Australian Government initiative that links job seekers with employment and training opportunities. The program helps potential employees by developing and delivering locally-designed programs that overcome barriers to employment.
