In the wake of changing privacy regulations, UK-based data company InfoSum has expanded its operations in Australia and New Zealand with its new head office in Sydney in order to meet the demand for robust data management solutions in the region.
“Australia is an innovative market with highly skilled and discerning operators of the best technology on the edge of a shift in data privacy,” InfoSum Chairman and CEO Brian Lesser said.
The country’s push for a digitally-driven economy has led to a strong demand for better management of customer data, making it an ideal market for the company’s technology.
Infosum’s expansion into the region was first announced in April this year. Its ANZ head office has now been opened in Sydney, which will also serve the New Zealand market.
Rick Knott has been appointed as InfoSum’s General Manager for Australia & New Zealand, with immediate effect to lead the business. Knott previously worked as Commercial Strategy & Business Development Director APAC at Quantcast, expanding the Quantcast business in the region
He has also worked as a Regional Director & GM APAC at creative management platform Celtra, and has other roles such as the Chair of the IAB Australia Mobile Advertising Council, and Business Development & Operations Director ANZ at InMobi.
“The market is on the brink of change,” he said.
“Privacy regulations such as the Online Privacy Bill and the extinction of the third-party cookie threatening the way companies collect, manage, and use consumer data.”
Knott further explained that Infosum’s data platform was what local businesses need to manage their data.
“InfoSum’s privacy-first data clean room technology is entering the market at just the right time to support local businesses’ data management,” he said.
“The non-movement of data approach enables companies to future-proof their business and be ready for any privacy regulation, by eliminating the need to move data.”
Infosum was founded in 2015 when it developed the world’s first decentralised data collaboration platform to help bring global data together without the need to share it.
The company currently offers end-to-end protection of customer data using its Data Clean Room technology, which allows companies to collaborate without compromising on security or privacy.
Austrade has aided Infosum in establishing a foothold in the country by providing tailored information to address specific business needs, such as insights on potential long-term opportunities for them in the region.
