Canberra Innovation Network celebrates Canberra’s innovation community

The Canberra Innovation Network is back, bringing over 400 people together to celebrate the amazing achievements of Canberra’s innovation community at the Innovation Showcase.

Now back in person, the annual showcase is a way for the Canberra Innovation Network to unite and recognise brilliant innovators while supporting their efforts in making an impact in society.

“I could not be prouder of what the Canberra innovation community has achieved in 2022,” Canberra Innovation Network’s CEO Petr Adamek said, delighted that the community can come together to support and celebrate their wins.

“Startup of the year at the national AIIA Awards, Techboard Angel Investor of the Year, Winner of the InnovationAus Manufacturing Innovation, NASDAQ listed company acquiring a Canberra tech scale-up for over $700M – these are just a few examples of the amazing brilliance that surrounds us.”

The event is particularly special to the innovation community this year as it has been two years since the showcase was done in person.

The Innovation Showcase, which is to be held at the Belconnen Arts Centre in Canberra on 7 December 4PM to 6PM, aims to present Canberra as a clever, connected, and creative city where entrepreneurs and businesses build on the city’s excellence in research and innovation to create social and economic benefits for all citizens.

Chief Minister Andrew Barr will be in attendance and will speak on the value of innovation in Canberra and the wins of the community over the past year.

The event also will feature innovators going head-to-head in a shark-tank style pitching competition with a crowd vote to decide the winners, as well as live music, interactive entertainment, and networking opportunities during the afternoon.

Innovators pitching include representatives from; Aurabox, Hive IQ, Viortec, Skykraft, Digital Design Partners, Syconic, Traceably, Bakesale, HYREA, Endless, Dear Crypto, Syenta.

For every person in attendance

The Canberra Innovation Network also reveals that they will donate $5 toward local organisations such as the YWCA Canberra, Country to Canberra and the Gugan Gulwan Youth Corporation for every person in attendance.

These local organisations each fit a different part of the Canberra Innovation Network’s vision elements, Clever, Connected & Creative.

As a not-for-profit organisation that is supported by the ACT Government, the Canberra Innovation Network works with Canberra’s innovative community by providing programs and supporting entrepreneurs, innovative businesses and researchers.
