Cipherpoint's Excite IT collaborates with Trend Micro Australia

Cipherpoint has announced that its subsidiary Excite IT has entered into an agreement with Trend Micro Australia to provide security operations services to support its managed detection and response service in Australia.

“Trend Micro has experienced massive growth in our security platform, consolidating attack surface management and extended detection and response – revolutionising how organisations manage cyber risk,” Trend Micro Vice President ANZ Ashley Watkins said.

“Having the ability to provide a locally managed SOC capability on top of the platform to incorporate the client’s other security products completes this offering perfectly, making us so excited and confident to be working with Cipherpoint to provide this service.”

Trend Micro, a global cybersecurity leader, is set to expand its offering with the inclusion of the Security Operations Centre as a Service (SOCaaS), thanks to a partnership with Cipherpoint Group.

The collaboration aims to provide managed response services and enhance Trend Micro’s existing cyber security platform.

The addition of SOCaaS will enable central visibility for improved detection and response, complementing Trend Micro’s advanced threat defence techniques.

The Cipherpoint Group’s locally owned and operated Security Operations Centre (SOC) met key requirements for Trend Micro. The group’s expertise in effective triage and response capabilities made them an ideal partner for this venture.

“The opportunity to partner with Trend Micro opens up a whole new set of opportunities for the Group,” Cipherpoint CEO Bryan Saba said.

“Not only will we help provide the SOC component of their managed services in the region but we will be able to offer a range of other services including advisory and remediation services.”

Trend Micro and Excite IT are in the final stages of deploying and testing the new services, with the onboarding of the first customer scheduled for June.

The partnership represents a substantial revenue opportunity for Cipherpoint. Trend Micro will offer SOCaaS to its customers and engage Excite IT to provide the subscribed services at agreed commercial rates.
