The Digital Transformation Agency (DTA) will be establishing a new Digital Marketplace in 2024 to continue meeting the ever-changing needs of buyers and sellers across the country.  

With the Digital Marketplace providing agencies with a simple procurement pathway to buy ICT labour hire and professional services in the last five years, the DTA is now taking the opportunity to further improve the marketplace. 

This improvement is said to include the establishment of a new Master Agreement. 

Under its plans to establish this new marketplace, the DTA announced that it will extend the current marketplace for a further 12 months to February 2024. 

The DTA will also close seller applications for both new sellers and existing sellers on 1 March 2023, giving sellers enough time to complete and submit applications. 

After this date, sellers will no longer be able to apply to join the Digital Marketplace or add new categories. 

The DTA reassured sellers that there will be an opportunity to apply again in the next iteration of the Marketplace in late 2023. 

In order to apply in the new Digital Marketplace, sellers will need to ensure they have completed and submitted company, marketplace and category applications or submitted any new category applications. 

All parts of the application must be submitted in full by 11:59 pm on 28 February 2023 to be considered. 

These plans will ensure that the resources required to design and establish the new Digital Marketplace are in consultation with the DTA’s buyers and sellers. 

For the existing Digital Marketplace, the DTA explained that there will be minimal impact on the terms and conditions of the Master Agreement.  

Aside from this, existing work orders and contracts will continue to operate as usual and users may still be able to post or respond to opportunities. 

As the DTA develops the approach to market for the new arrangement, they stated that they will be seeking input on the proposed requirements by releasing a discussion paper.
